The tournament is conducted across the following age groups: Under 7, Under 8, Under 9, Under 10, Under 11, Under 12, Under 13, Under 14, Under 15 and Under 16.
Age groups are determined by the player's age as at 1 January of the tournament year. For example, a player who turns 10 in the tournament year competes in the Under 10 age group.
Summer 9s reserves the right to merge, split or cancel age groups depending on team numbers. Affected teams will be notified as soon as practicable.
4.Team Registration
Registration is open to all junior rugby league teams and clubs approved by Summer 9s.

Summer 9s reserves the right to refuse or cancel a registration at its discretion, including where eligibility requirements are not met or where the conduct of a club, team or individual warrants it.
Team managers and coaches are responsible for ensuring all players in their team meet eligibility requirements and that all information provided during registration is accurate and complete.
5.Tournament Format and Rules
The tournament is played under rugby league 9s rules as determined by Summer 9s. The format consists of a pool stage followed by semi-finals and a grand final for each age group.

The following conduct is not acceptable and may result in removal from the venue, disqualification or a ban from future events: abusive, threatening or offensive language or behaviour directed at players, officials, volunteers or other participants; physical aggression or intimidation; conduct that endangers the safety of any person; and any form of discrimination or harassment.
Parents and guardians are responsible for the behaviour of their children and for their own conduct at the tournament.
Summer 9s officials and volunteers have the authority to remove any person from the venue whose conduct is unacceptable. Summer 9s may report serious incidents to relevant authorities.

Summer 9s may require a player to be assessed by first aid personnel before returning to play following an injury.
By registering, you consent to Summer 9s personnel providing or arranging emergency first aid or medical treatment for a player where a parent or guardian cannot be contacted in time.
8.Photographs and Video
Summer 9s, or photographers acting for us, may take photographs and video at the tournament for use on our website, social media and in tournament promotion.
We will not publish a player's full name together with their image without the consent of a parent or guardian.
